Guidelines and FAQ

  • All listings require a user profile.
  • When you register for South Coast Women, you are required to complete your profile.
  • Please use your real name and include one social media link so I can verify your identity.
  • Your profile will be displayed in our internal directory.
  • Once you have a verified profile, you can list your businesses, add organisations you are a part of, and post on the notice board.

The Business Directory is a tool for professional discovery. To ensure your listing is approved:

  • Listings are reserved for enterprises that are owned, led, or managed by women and are based on, or primarily serve, the South Coast (Illawarra to the Sapphire Coast).
  • Use high-quality, original images (max 1MB). Descriptions should be clear, professional, and free of “spammy” formatting.
  • Ensure all contact details and links are active. Broken links or incorrect information may lead to a listing being removed.
  • All listings are reviewed and approved manually every Monday and Friday.

The Community directory is a dedicated space for non-profits, support groups, and health specialists.

  • This directory is for registered charities, community-led support groups, and specialised health providers. I wanted to give these essential services an extra way to be found online.
  • Once you have a verified profile, you can add your organisation.

The Public Notice Board is for temporary news and short-term updates.

  • You can post Announcements, Events, Help Wanted calls, or Special Offers.
  • All notices are temporary and will automatically be removed from the site after 30 days.
  • I wanted to keep this post type simple—like a link on an old-school notice board. Once you have a verified profile, you can post on the noticeboard.
  • A cover image helps your notice stand out, but please keep files under 500KB.

You can submit a guest blog post directly from your dashboard for review. I have provided the following guidelines to help you create content that is a great fit for the directory and to ensure a smooth approval process.

Articles must be relevant to the South Coast regional landscape or professional development.

Submissions must be original, well-written, and proofread. Helpful, educational, or inspiring content rather than hard sell advertisements.

To help with the site’s search presence, content should be unique rather than than cross-posted from elsewhere.

Every guest post includes a short author bio and a link back to your directory listing or website.

I will not publish rants, political or divisive content, illegal material, or discriminatory language.

I reserve the right to decline or edit any content for length and clarity to ensure it aligns with the professional tone of the directory.

Aim for 500–800 words. Please provide 1 high-quality original image to accompany the post to be used as the featured image.

While you can submit directly via the dashboard, you are welcome to contact me with a brief pitch before writing the full article to make sure the topic is a good fit. Please send me a PM via the dashboard.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you a business Networking Community?

No. We are purely a business listing directory. There are already local chambers of commerce and other women’s business groups that organise women’s networking events. I am a web developer and SEO, not an event planner

If you are a woman or identify as a women than yes, you are welcome.

First and foremost, this platforms is called South Coast Women, it is a pivot from a womens platform I built and the brand already exists.

Its nothing against men but personally I prefer to collaborate with women, prefer a female doctor and if I could find female tradies, that would feel more comfortable in some situations.

The process is simple: first, you need to sign up for a user profile. Once your profile is active, log in to your dashboard and select the option to add a listing. You can then enter your business or organisation details and submit them for review.

Currently, listing is free. I believe every local woman-led business should have a place on the regional map.

I review and approve new submissions every Monday and Friday. If you submit your listing on a Tuesday, it will be processed on Friday.

Yes. You can log in to your dashboard at any time to update your contact details, service descriptions, or images. Changes are usually live within the next review cycle.

In 2025 I created South Coast Women as a social networking group.

It was a great idea but it was a lot of work, required a lot of time and financial investment and I can no longer continue to run a platrform that isn’t financially viable.

If I had the support and a bit of financial backing from the local community, I could have kept the site going.

Now we are purely a listing site, I spent 100s of hours building a platform and it seemed silly to just dlete it. I hace remove parts of the site and add automations so the site can run with very little input from me other than technical maintenance.

There was but thats another thing that I didn’t want run solo.
I may add events in so that busienses can promote them but for now I can’t be arsed to do anything more than the basics.
