Hi everyone! :)
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I hope you have a wonderful break filled with whatever makes you happiest.
As we wrap up another year on our beautiful South Coast, I’ve been reflecting on what makes this community so special.
Whether it’s a quiet morning coffee organised through the platform or a large group bushwalk, the heart of South Coast Women has always been about making connections simple, stress-free, and accessible to everyone.
After a very challenging 2025 and an incredibly busy few months juggling my client work with the growth of this platform, I’ll be honest, I am absolutely knackered!
At South Coast Women, we always talk about connecting “at your own pace”, and I’m taking my own advice.
I’ll be having a total screen break from now until January 5. Staying away from the office and laptop is essential for me to recharge so I can bring my best energy (and best code!) to this community in the year ahead.
Since building my first platforms back in the 90s, I’ve always believed that technology should serve people, not overwhelm them. I have a long list of ideas to make South Coast Women even more intuitive.
Between January 5 and January 12, I’ll be back in web dev innovation mode.
I’m working on some ideas, some updates and new functionality. Hopefully, things will go to plan so I can launch new things late January or Feb.
Being a solo developer bootstrapping a platform does make it much slower than if I were part of a team or had a big pot of money to allow me to work on South Coast Women.
If there’s a feature you’ve been wishing for or a way we can make the site run smoother, please reach out. You can use the form on the site or send me a message directly through the platform.
Even while I’m taking a breather, the South Coast Women platform is still 100% live.
You can also continue to post your activities, events, local businesses, or community organisations.
Business Hours: I won’t be replying to official business emails until January 12.
The Platform App: I’ve been testing our platform as an app on my phone, and I love it! If you need to reach me, want to share a feature idea, or spot a technical issue, please message me directly on the platform. I’ll be checking in sporadically.
Lastly, a personal note: If you are on your own over Christmas, please know you are more than welcome to reach out to me directly via the platform messaging system. Our community is built on the idea that no one should feel isolated, and I’m always up for a digital chat.
Wishing you a brilliant New Year and a fantastic start to 2026.
